INTRO
WHAT CAN WE DO?
I spent 15 years navigating the high-stakes, high-pressure world of IT project management and stakeholder relations. I know exactly what tight project deadlines, unscheduled outages, system deployments, and scope creep do to a team’s nervous system, cognitive clarity, and focus. Burnout in business isn’t a mindset problem, it is a physiological problem.
Today, I bridge my corporate IT delivery background with elite human performance science. As a certified Oxygen Advantage breathwork coach and PADI Freediver Instructor Trainer, I teach executives, directors, and professional teams how to master their autonomic nervous systems under pressure.
Utilising science-backed breathing protocols, I help high-performing leaders:
– Drop acute stress and reset their nervous system in just a few minutes
– Prevent decision fatigue during critical, high-stakes negotiations
– Build operational resilience to sustain peak focus without burning out.
I’ve taught and guided people how to use one single breath to freedive 40-metres and five atmospheres of pressure into the depths of the ocean in complete peace and calm. I’ve led passionate cyclists on multi-week tours up into the lean air thousands of metres high over the tallest mountain peaks in the French and Spanish Pyrenees, and Alps of France, Switzerland and Italy. I know the effects that fatigue, ceaseless pressure, and what functional performance in the face of relentless effort look like.
Having built, scaled, and operated a multi award-winning tourism business, I speak the language of budget, strategy, ROI, and deliverables in highly competitive environments – not just wellness and breathing.
Fast-Track Your Team’s Performance:
I am delighted to offer high-impact 1:1 executive coaching and corporate workshops for Victorian based organisations looking to optimise performance and reduce burnout.

Breathwork REINVENTED, RE-ENERGISED AND REINVIGORATED my life, and it can DO WONDERS FOR yours too.
BATTLE OF WILL
I can’t believe I resisted myself for so long. A battle of personal will versus societal expectation.
Good grades, sporting achievements, university, and climbing the corporate ladder. The white picket fence, and the custom made platinum diamond ring. And I was dead inside. Everything felt grey. Even though I was living a colourful existence in a beautiful Melbourne bayside suburb and enjoying the thrill of a Paris-end Collins Street corporate career. And fighting fit riding my bike up and down Beach Rd in the early hours of most mornings with my cycling mates. But, I actually woke up one morning and said to myself, “is this it? Is this really what life is about?”. But I ignored the inner rumblings, the dissatisfaction, emptiness and the listless feeling of a purposeful life slipping away, and kept spending on the luscious dinners, prestige cars, and spoils of success.
THE BIG FRACTURE
Then, one day, a surprise redundancy ruptured me in a way I could never have imagined. It crushed my spirit, ended my professional IT career, pummelled my personal life, and I wanted to leap off the sixth floor balcony that I usually gazed happily out from.
Fortunately an encounter with an Eagleray whilst I swam in the sea near Brighton Baths caused a series of new decisions that would forever change my life. The stingray encounter in shallow water was so destabilising that I panicked and swam to shore and had to console myself. Being a competitive cyclist and often doing risky things on skinny tyres, the moment shocked me. How could I be so rattled by a moment meeting a sea creature in it’s own home? It was the critical moment that led me to discover freediving, the art of holding one’s breath calmly to dive under the ocean.
THE REINVENTION BEGINS
This encounter started an incredible journey, where only months later I would find myself in Greece, learning in just a couple of days to freedive over 20 metres deep on one breath with the Greek freediving World Champion, Stavros Kastrinakis. So beautiful and profound was the process of unlocking my disturbed inner world and fear of the ocean, and turning it around into a sensation of absolute bliss, peace and beautifully connected inner spirit, soul and the vast ocean, that I was instantly inspired to become a Freediving Instructor.
And so, over the next 3 years I would train with World Champion freedivers across Greece, Italy, and Egypt to become a certified freediving instructor under Apnea Academy and PADI Freediver.
A NEW ERA
A new era evolved quickly. In 2014 I created the Melbourne Freedivers Club and opened my own freediving school based on the Mornington Peninsula, WaterMaarq. In no time at all, I developed charter boat operations, having never driven a boat before. In 2017 WaterMaarq was the first ever Australian Tourism Accredited Provider endorsed freediving organisation and won it’s first RACV Victorian Tourism Award (Bronze) for tourism service excellence. It quickly became Sorrento’s Number One rated thing to do on TripAdvisor, ousting 30-year experienced local charter operations. This success saw the organisation then become the first non-incumbent permit holder to win the tender to provide unique eco boat charter Dolphin Swim experiences in Port Phillip Bay, one of only four permits available. A key turning point that led to further wins in Silver and then Gold RACV Victorian Tourism Awards in subsequent years.
This great success however had begun to severely limit my ability to teach freediving courses and provide breathwork coaching, my passion that had started this whole new life in fluid movement outdoors.
LOST PASSION, FOUND AGAIN
It took a couple of years, but in the end I couldn’t avoid it any longer. I reconnected with and re-discovered my own personal love of freediving, of using breathwork to manage my own stresses, insecurities and inner struggles, and to allow the flow of real deep joy to emerge from within myself. And so I made the difficult decision to cease the WaterMaarq seal and dolphin charter operations and return to focus on providing PADI Freediver courses, Snorkel Guide courses, breathwork coaching, and freelance cycling guiding in Australia and Europe.
RETURN TO RENEWAL
And now, I welcome you to Marlon Quinn – Fluid Movement Outdoors.
The most beautiful moments I have ever experienced, for myself, have been when I have been deeply immersed in the moment. Completely present, totally in the flow, connected with every part of what is going on inside and outside of myself in one swirling aura. And it is these moments that remind me what it is like to truly thrive. To truly be alive. Not under any influence, not chasing adrenaline, nor success, nor achievement, just absolutely being. And these moments are pure. They have been created inside myself, using the breath to be present. Creating a sense of now. Of manifesting something that I’m neither in control of, nor seeking. Through the art of the breath, it is about opening the flow to what is, to allowing the emergence of authentic real self to rise, and to accept whatever state I’m in. A state where the feeling of being powerful emerges, rather than is taken. A feeling where belief is not concocted, the self belief is naturally shining. The moment when I am most me.
THE GREATER BEAUTY
The greater beauty, is when in front of my very own eyes, I get to observe this same sensation rise in the eyes of you in front of me. When through the breathwork, through the action, through the activation, through the practice, the very person in front of me unlocks for the first time in their life, without forcing, without expecting, without striving, and there it is, the incredible vibrance of the power of self-belief.
AND NOW…
I invite you to join me to begin creating your own better life in fluid movement outdoors using breathwork.

Marlon is a former 15-year veteran IT-Executive and Project Stakeholder Manager turned leader, guide and coach. He transformed his life through breathwork, learning under world champion freedivers to become an instructor, and then founder of Melbourne’s not-for-profit freediving club. He pioneered freediving across southern Australia, beginning the first dedicated freediving school and charter business in Victoria, WaterMaarq. And in three short years won his first adventure tourism award as a commercial qualified skipper. And he’d never even driven a boat before that. Within five years he’d created a gold-winning Victorian Tourism Award company and accredited adventure and eco endorsed operation.
He finds joy and peace in the outdoors, immersing in Nature, whether underwater on one breath in the cool sea swimming with wild creatures, or cycling up in the high mountains and fresh air, rising up to the peaks, or traversing the valleys by telemark ski.
