Developing the understanding and being able to demonstrate the correct skills in a safe learning environment is the philosophy behind our teaching and your successful future career.

As an example of what to expect in the course sessions, here is a brief outline. However this may change depending on the range of participants, prevailing weather conditions and timing of the course.

  • Course registration and pre-learning (1-1.5hrs)
  • On-line classroom theory session (1-3hrs)
  • Confined water (pool) session (1.5-2hrs)
  • Open water (shore dive) session (2hrs)
What do I need to bring?
Pool / Open Water
  • Pool: Swimwear and 4-5mm wetsuit, towel, mask, snorkel, fins, weightbelt
  • Open Water: Swimwear and 5mm wetsuit, towel, mask, snorkel, fins, weightbelt, sun protection
*We recommend thicker 5mm wetsuits for the in-water training. As we spend extended time in the water, you may get cold more quickly than you’re used to.

Fitness and Snorkelling Ability

Our snorkelling guide training and courses are immersive and focussed sessions of snorkelling and learning.

It’s therefore important that you are physically well, have a sufficient level of fitness, and are in good healthy condition to take full advantage of the training and education provided. Performing at your best for the duration of the course means firstly that you’ll be safe, and secondly you’ll make the most of your time and energy invested!

The minimum recommended snorkelling ability to attend the course is beginner to intermediate. However, keep in mind that you don’t have to perform anything that you consider beyond your abilities. You can always return to complete the practical skills sessions another time to demonstrate your abilities after practicing and refining them if you need to.

The provision of this nationally recognised and accredited training course is in partnership with and under the auspices of PADI Asia Pacific as the RTO (RTO ID#6729).
