The wrong tool for the right job. It looks straight up but maybe there’s another couple of kinks and more 24% pitches.
Sometimes we don’t have the right tools for the job, other times the skill, or the know how, the experience, an instruction booklet, someone to ask or nor do we know what’s on the other side or maybe at the top.
We know that by going forward, we’ll face perils, or we have materials and equipment that are not designed for the task.

Decision point: Down for assured safety and hot coffee or Up for ice, wind and maybe a chance to throw a snowball at 2c?
If the risks are high on the way up, and there’s no mitigation other than not going, the return path is even more dangerous than the climb up. Mometum that can’t be controlled.
By going forward though, what we find every time is the beauty of the view, or the beauty of the process, the mistake, the triumph, or just the fact that we’re doing it because we said ‘why not’. The beauty of a stranger we pass, a brief smile, knowing grin or by getting nothing, maybe just the memory of that even.
The thing is, is that despite the challenges we face, the risks, the anguish or anxiety, the fear, or the unknowns, is that beauty is everywhere. If we’re willing to look. Even if we don’t know what form that beauty is or is meant to look like.
But surely the greatest beauty comes from when we look within. Because if we hadn’t tried when one or all of those factors were missing, we’d have nothing.
